Ability(s):

• Devour: An ability to project a large blast of darkness in a form of a lion’s head that engulfs the enemy and paralyzes them in fear. He uses it to paralyze his prey so he can feed on them. Sometimes can be used to let him escape if necessary.

• Poison Sting: He stabs at the enemy with his scorpion tail and poisons them, rendering them plagued in a fit of nightmares and pain.

• Flare: Using his own blood, he charges up golden colored flames that he uses to burn enemies and can be used to cage in the prey. This move in particular drains him a lot though.

Personality:  

    Asura is the type to be playful one minute, then give the cold shoulder the next. He is extremely blunt and will say what is on his mind without thinking things through, which results in lots of fights- of which he happily welcomes. The manticore is dishonest and loves to deceive others with sweet words and  false kindness. He especially enjoys the pain of others and wears his external emotions on his sleeve, clearly expressing when he is happy or mad. He doesn’t particularly care for rules and order thus is extremely not fond of the chancel, believing them to be a bunch of spineless creatures. He prefers to go at his own pace, and do whatever he wants.

 Although he cares not for rules, if he is interested in something, he is willing to lend a hand to them such as the Risen organization. Asura is territorial and possessive, once he is locked onto something or someone that he is interested in, he’ll pursue them till the ends of the earth. If anyone else tries to make a move on them, he’ll fight them to the death. Around strangers, Asura acts friendly, while around people that he knows better he reacts with his devilish smile and jerk like personality unless he truly likes the person which is rare with the exception of a certain vampire. He is loyal as long as the other catches his attention long enough for him to trust them.

History:

    Asura was born into a family of Manticores that lived in the caves far from human habitats. He had an elder brother of whom he loved dearly and a twin sister who is a splitting image of him. Their family resorted to eating large animals to avoid trouble with the humans who have become curious of their existence. Back into the ages, his family had a contract with a sorcerer who used them to do his bidding. As civilization continued to grow, the family broke the contract to escape the persecution as the sorcerer was caught and executed.

    Asura was not matured yet but loved to play with his elder brother Iruza, he wanted to grow up and become as strong as him. Iruza was his goal and inspiration, as was his mother who was one of the wisest around. Their family spent most of their time roaming the deserts and lived to survive the best they could. Occasionally, they would resume the forms of humans and roam the streets of Persia. This was done to teach young Asura how the human society worked and why they should never get involved. Iruza in turn taught Asura survival skills, his twin sister preferred to stick with the parents.

    An incident that happened during one of their outings involved the mass slaughter of a town by a band of bandits, unable to reveal themselves the father of Asura was caught and beheaded. His head dropped in front of Asura to see. This stirred up a feeling within Asura that he could not understand, it was not sadness but something else. The family narrowly escaped from the bandits, the human’s greed and cruelty transferred itself back with the family as emotions that fueled their beastly natures.   

    From that day forward, the mother secretly went down to the towns to kill humans and bring them back, fully aware that this is against the wishes of the chancel that she heard so much about. having his first taste of human flesh, Asura was hooked. He later secretly follows his brother down to town and watches as he used his good looks to seduce both men and women to bed before devouring them. Learning from this Asura began to do the same, one day he ends up killing Asami(Twin sister) because she refused to follow in the footsteps of the rest of the family. Although it was an accident from one of their fights, Asura realized that the weak should be devoured by the strong and that is how this world was structured. As he grew up and achieved his forms, he became more attached to his brother whom he had loved for a long time. He became possessive and wouldn't let anyone near Iruza. His brother in turn became charmed and was equally as protective to the point where even the mother gave up doing anything about them. 

His brother was eventually killed protecting Asura from hunters, this caused Asura to simply give up on everything and he just let himself disappear into the underground world. Resorting to fighting as a way to vent his anger against those who had destroyed the only person he considered dear to him. During this time is where he met Mathias and became interested in the vampire, he followed him around and tried to befriend him. Their relation becomes complicated when the vampire responds back to Asura's pestering. 

Wandering the lands after his family slowly faded away into the afterlife, the manticore just let himself do what he wants, caring not for rules or anything. If he wanted something, he'll snatch it. Unfortunately, a few times he was stopped and nearly taken by members of the chancel of which he then grew a severe hatred for those who reinforce order and suppress the beastly instincts of the wild. He was eventually invited into the rogue organization the Risen, interested in their beliefs he agreed to join them. 

Trivia:
-Asura and Mathias have a complicated relationship- despite Asura's nature of losing interest in things and then throwing them away, he has not done so with Mathias. Although the vampire doesn't trust him, the two can't seem to get away from each other.
